Local co to invest $12.27m in Comilla EPZ

Ms Vihrea Com Limited, a Bangladeshi company, will set up a garments manufacturing industry in the Comilla Export Processing Zone (EPZ). In this connection, an agreement was signed between the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) and Ms Vihrea Com in the city Wednesday. Member (Investment Promotion) of the BEPZA Md Moyjuddin Ahmed and Managing Director of Ms Vihrea Com M Irfan Syed signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations. The fully Bangladeshi-owned company will invest US$12.27 million in setting up the unit and will manufacture garment items. The company will also create employment opportunity for 1,565 Bangladeshi nationals. Among others, Executive Chairman of the BEPZA Major General ATM Shahidul Islam, Secretary Md Shawkat Nabi and General Manager (Investment Promotion) AZM Azizur Rahman were present at the deal signing ceremony. - Press release
