Local cos bag $340,000 spot orders at Indian trade fair

Bangladesh received spot orders worth US$ 340 thousand (3.40 lakh) and another US$ 120 thousand in prospective orders at the India International Trade Fair (IITF)-2007 held recently in New Delhi, reports BSS.
The Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) of Bangladesh organised participation of various companies from the country in the fair held on November 14-27, said a press release of the EPB.
Bangladesh's products, especially textile materials like Jamdani sarees, Tangail sarees, high quality silk and synthetic ornamental sarees, were displayed at the exhibition.
Information about other export items like woven and knit garments, light engineering, ceramic, handicraft, jute, leather products was also disseminated in the trade show.
A total of 44 countries including China, Egypt, Thailand, Vietnam, the USA, Brazil, Iran, Nigeria, Germany, Japan, Australia and all the SAARC member countries participated in the fair.
