Local cos receive $3.77m export order from Seoul Fair

Bangladeshi companies have received confirmed order of $0.27 million (2,70,000) and prospective order of $3.5 million from Korea.
These orders were received from the Imported Goods Fair, held at Seoul in Korea, on May 29 - June 1.
Bangladesh participated in the fair for the first time. Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), in cooperation with Bangladesh Mission in Seoul assisted in the matter.
Nine companies including the EPB participated in the fair where a number of products were displayed. The Bangladesh pavilion was the second largest in the exhibition hall.
Korean Importers' Association (KOIMA) chairman inaugurated the fair, where ambassadors of various countries were also present.
EPB also exhibited various catalogues and related documents that aroused interest among Korean visitors. A large number of local prospective buyers and dignitaries highly appreciated the quality of Bangladeshi products.
Bangladeshi participants expressed their satisfaction on the outcome of the fair, and said that Korea can be a very good export market for Bangladeshi products. Bangladesh export to Korea will have a positive impact in the near future due to their success at the fair, they said.
During the fair, the president of KOIMA and director fair of EPB held an exclusive meeting, where they discussed various issues regarding possible trade expansion between the two countries.
Bangladesh Ambassador to Korea regularly visited the national pavilion.
