Loving couple commits suicide in Chandpur

A young couple in love committed suicide by hanging themselves at Kadla village under Kachua upazila in Chandpur district on Thursday. The deceased were identified as Aklima Akter, 30, wife of Jakir Hossain, an expatriate, and Anisur Rahman, 22. Locals said Aklima, mother of two children, and Anisur, nephew of her husband Jakir Hossain, had developed an extramarital relationship. Their bond became so strong that they thought they could not live without each other. When the secret of their ties came to light, Jakir returned home from abroad and attempted to settle the matter. Failing to get each other close, the couple decided to bring an end to their lives. Consequently, they hanged themselves with the ceiling fan of a room in a house. As their bodies came to her notice, Farhana, daughter of Aklima, informed the matter to others. Being informed, police recovered the bodies and sent those to Chandpur General Hospital for autopsy, according to UNB.
