Low over Bay: Plying of small vessels restricted

The well-marked low off the Bangladesh-West Bengal coast persisted over the north Bay and the adjoining Bangladesh coast Saturday. The BIWTA Saturday imposed ban on plying of small vessels on 76 routes of the southern region due to the inclement weather. Operation of the ML type water transports (less than 65-feet in length) was halted on 28 inter-district routes of Barisal, 21 of Patuakhali, 13 of Barguna and 14 of Bhola, and five coastal routes between Barisal, Bhola, Laxmipur and Chittagong. — UNB
