Low over west central Bay may move in northwesterly direction

Tuesday, 4 September 2007

The low over west central Bay and adjoining northwest Bay off Orrisa-Andhra coast was persisting Monday and is likely to move in a northwesterly direction, reports UNB.
Under its influence deep convection is taking place over west central Bay and adjoining northwest Bay and steep pressure gradient lies elsewhere over north Bay. Squally weather may affect the maritime ports, a Met office bulletin said.
Maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox's Bazar and Mongla have been advised to hoist local cautionary signal number three.
All fishing boats and trawlers over north Bay and deep sea have been advised to come close to the coast and proceed with caution until further notice.
