Low pressure area over north Bay intensified into well marked low
Wednesday, 9 July 2008
The low pressure area over north Bay and adjoining West Bengal-Bangladesh coast intensified into a well marked low over the same area, reports UNB.
It is likely to intensify further into a monsoon depression and move in a north-northwesterly direction, said a Met Office special bulletin Tuesday.
Under its influence deep convection is taking place over north Bay. Squally weather is likely over north Bay and adjoining coastal area and may affect the maritime ports. Maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox's Bazar and Mongla have been advised to keep hoisted local cautionary signal number three, it said.
All fishing boats and trawlers over the north Bay have been advised to keep close to the coast and proceed with caution until further notice.
