Lowest Covid cases in two yrs, no death

The number of Covid-19 infections continues to decline, recording the lowest number of new cases in almost two years.
In the last 24 hours until Saturday morning, the country registered 62 confirmed cases with no report of death due to the virus infection, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The daily caseload of 62 along with the positivity rate of 0.83 per cent was the lowest since April 11, 2020, when some 58 people were infected.
With the latest figure, the total number of coronavirus infections rose to 1,950,527, while the death toll remained unchanged at 29,114.
The most encouraging part of Saturday's coronavirus bulletin was that 48 of 64 districts reported no infection of the deadly virus in 24 hours.
A total of 1,459 people recovered from Covid-19 infection during the same period, taking the total recovery to 1,868,620.
The country reported the first zero death from coronavirus in a single day on November 20 last year along with 178 infections, since the pandemic broke out in Bangladesh in March 2020.
Besides, the country registered the highest daily caseload of 16,230 on July 28 last year, while the highest number of daily fatalities was 264 on August 10 last year.
