Lowest Fitra rate fixed at Tk 65

Fitra has been fixed at Tk 65 per head this year. Islamic Foundation fixed the amount at a meeting on Monday. Khatib of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque and convener of Fitra fixing committee Prof Maulana Mohammad Salahuddin chaired the meeting. The Khatib said the Fitra was fixed taking into account the market prices of wheat or flour. Fitra can be given in cash or kind. Per person Fitra has been fixed at minimum Tk 65 and maximum Tk 2000 this year considering the market prices of these commodities, said Maulana Mohammad Salahuddin. — UNB
