BRAHMANBARIA, July 16: Crisis of liquefied petroleum (LP) gas has been continuing in the district following sudden prices hike of the fuel item and gas cylinders.
The situation has been causing misery to the consumers for about a fortnight.
According to local people, inadequate supply of LP gas cylinders and sudden hike in LP gas price have worsened the situation.
According to sources, companies like Bashundhara, Sumit Clean Heat, Jamuna and BPC along with a number of distributors and dealers are engaged in LP gas cylinders business in the district.
Local dealers of Meghna and Bashundhara LP gas companies said the supply of LP gas and its cylinders had been disrupted due to some technical reasons for the last two weeks.
As a result, the LP gas depots could not supply the items to its consumers in large quantities.
It was alleged that the local dealers had stopped selling LP gas and cylinders after learning that the prices of the items would be raised soon.
