Lutfar new chairman of IFIC Bank

Mohammad Lutfar Rahman was elected the new chairman of IFIC Bank at the 476th emergency meeting of the bank's board of directors Thursday, said a press release.
Prior to this, he was the vice-chairman of the bank.
Lutfar Rahman comes of a business family. His father Abdul Latif Miah is a former general secretary of Bangladesh Jamdani Association. He is also one of the oldest members of the Dhaka Stock Exchange.
Following his father's footsteps, he has become an entrepreneur and has been associated with a number of business enterprises like insurance, banking, healthcare products and non-profitable organisations and clubs.
Lutfar Rahman is the managing director of Dhaka-Shanghai Ceramics Ltd, a joint venture company, and director of National Television Ltd and International Television Ltd.
