M. I. Cement renamed as 'Crown Cement PLC'

M. I. Cement Factory Limited, a listed company, has changed its name to "Crown Cement PLC" as part of its business strategy as well as to bring a consistency with its brand name. However, other than the name change, other issues of the company will remain unchanged, said a statement.
Since the company is listed on the country's capital market, authorities of DSE and CSE have also approved the changes in the company name and trading code. Accordingly, the company name and trading code have been changed in the stock exchanges.
Starting its journey on 31 December 1994, M. I. Cement Factory Limited has been manufacturing and marketing its products under brand name of "Crown Cement".
Since the company was operating under the name of M. I. Cement Factory Limited, many were getting confused to link the company with the brand name of Crown Cement.
"So the name has been changed to Crown Cement PLC in order to bring a consistency in line with the company versus and its products (brand). By this way, everyone now can easily know and understand about the company versus its products (brand)," the statement added.
