M Kamaluddin CEC, Muhammad Ali new MD of SJIBL

M Kamaluddin Chowdhury and Muhammad Ali have been appointed Chief Executive Consultant and Managing Director respectively of Shahjalal Islami Bank Limited (SJIBL) recently.
Prior to taking over the new assignment, M Kamaluddin worked as managing director of the bank since February 2004. Chowdhury was the Executive President and CEO of Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited for about seven years.
Kamaluddin is a career banker who joined Habib Bank Limited (presently Agrani Bank) as a probationary officer in 1963.
He served there in different capacities as branch manager, zonal manager and head of divisions of head office and he was head of international division of Agrini Bank prior to joining Islami Bank.
Muhammad Ali has taken over the current charge of managing director of Shahjalal Islami Bank. He joined (SJIBL) as senior executive vice president in July, 2005 and was promoted as deputy managing director in December 2005.
After successful completion of his post-graduation with honours in Economics, Ali started his career with Sonali Bank In 1977 as a probationary officer.
Subsequently, he joined National Bank Ltd. in 1983 at the very dawn of the bank.
