Madrasa teacher held in Ctg over sexual abuse

CHATTOGRAM, July 12: Police have arrested a madrasa teacher in Lohagara upazila of Chattogram district on charge of kidnapping and sexually abusing a 10-year-old boy, who is a student of his institution.
The arrest was made early Saturday during a raid on a residential hotel in Chakaria municipality of Cox's Bazar district, conducted by Lohagara thana police.
The accused, identified as Belal Uddin, is a teacher at a madrasa in Lohagara upazila.
He is the son of Nurul Alam from Shilkhali Sabujpara in Barbakia union under Pekua upazila of Cox's Bazar.
The boy was allegedly kidnapped by Belal Uddin on Friday afternoon and taken to the hotel in Chakaria, where he held him captive and sexually abused him.
The teacher reportedly threatened to kill the boy if he disclosed the incident.
