CHITTAGONG, Sep 8: A mineral water producer in the port city has been fined Tk 50,000 on charge of marketing polluted water.
Chittagong Port (CP) Magistrate Mohammad Munir Chowdhury fined Rabino Limited of the amount and informed the BSTI authority for cancellation of its licence.
The CP magistrate launched a drive at the Kalurghat-based factory Thursday and found germs in some bottles of 'Pacific' brand mineral water of the company, which had been proved harmful to public health after testing at the government laboratory.
