Magura by-election on May 30

MAGURA, May 27: The by-election will be held in a festive atmosphere, Khulna range DIGP SM Moniruzzaman said this at a press conference as the chief guest arranged at Magura deputy commissioner's conference room Monday evening.
He said casting vote is the democratic right of a citizen. Magura by-election will be a model in upholding the democratic right.
With assurance DIGP said, "Now we are not part of government body as we are being directed by election commission. In this situation we are confident to discharge our election duty without being influenced by any quarter".
Magura police super AKM Ehshanullah said, the soil of Magura was sullied by vote rigging in the by-election in 1994. Through the election scheduled on May 30 this soil will be freed from the previous taint, he said.  
Magura deputy commissioner Md Mahabubur Rahman who chaired the press conference said, "We are contemplating holding a fair and free election on May 30."
