Magura clash leaves 40 injured

At least 40 people were injured in a clash between two rival groups at Patkelbari village at Sadar Upazila in Magura on Saturday afternoon. M A Hasem Khan, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station, said there was a long standing enmity between Ful Biswas and Aziz Member of the village over establishing dominance in the area. The clash ensued following an altercation between the supporters of the two groups. At one stage, the two rival groups, equipped with homemade arms, attacked each other, leaving 40 injured. Informed, police rushed in and brought the situation under control. Critically injured 25 people were admitted to Magura Sadar Hospital while the rest given first aid, according to UNB.
