Mahbub Uddin Khokon, Bokul released

BNP joint secretary Khandaker Mahbub Uddin Khokon and a former MP Sakhawat Hossain Bokul were released from Kashimpur jail on Wednesday morning. Jail authorities said that freed Khokan and Bokul around 11am from Dhaka Central Jail in Kashimpur in Gazipur district. The Jail Super said the two BNP leaders were released after authorities received court paperwork. “They were greeted by family members at the gates,” he added. Khokon secured six-month bail from the High Court on Monday in all the three cases – two filed against him for arson attack and one for prompting an Islamist organisation during its overnight stay at Shapla Chattar at Motijheel following a rally in the city’s commercial hub on May 5 last year. Bokul was arrested in a case over vandalism and violence on Dec 26 last year, according to a news agency.
