Bikalpa Dhara Bangladesh mayoral candidate for Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mahi B. Chowdhury said on Saturday he would build a modern city liveable for all, if elected.
"I want to build a Dhaka fit for living for all. And hence there is no alternative to your (voters) cooperation," he said while making his campaign at Nikunja in the city. He along with his supporters took part in cleaning the area.
Mr Chowdhury is contesting the mayoral polls with the symbol 'eagle'.
Mr Chowdhury in a statement on the day said that he was wondered by seeing his name included in the list of BNP-led 20-party alliance's election coordination committee.
"I am a mayoral candidate and working heart and soul for winning," he said. "I don't know anything about the matter. It is not possible to demean others by conspiracy. I am in the election race and will remain- Inshallah," he said.
