Mahmudullah to captain Tigers in 1st T20 against Lankans

Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan has been ruled out of the first Twenty20 international against Sri Lanka after he failed to recover from a finger injury, it was announced Tuesday.
Batsman Mahmudullah, who captained Bangladesh in the Test series in Shakib's absence, will also fill in as skipper for the T20 opener, reports AFP.
Bangladesh, who lost the tri-series final and the Test series, initially included Shakib in their squad for the two T20 matches, the first of which is tomorrow (Thursday) in Dhaka. "He was making good progress so we thought he might be available for both the matches. But it seems now he cannot play the first Twenty20," said chief selector Minhajul Abedin.
The second match will be played in Sylhet on Sunday.
Selectors asked left-arm spinner Nazmul Hossain to join the squad as a replacement for Shakib in the first game. Shakib had replaced pace bowler Mashrafe Mortaza as Bangladesh's T20 skipper in the series against South Africa in October.
Bangladesh squad: Mahmudullah (Captain), Tamim Iqbal Khan, Soumya Sarker, Mushfiqur Rahim, Sabbir Rahman, Mustafizur Rahman, Rubel Hossain, Mohammad Saifuddin, Abu Haider Rony, Abu Jahed Rahi, Ariful Haque, Mehedi Hasan, Zakir Hasan, Afif Hossain and Nazmul Hossain Apu.
