Main Eid jamaat at Nat\\\'l Eidgah at 8:30am

The Holy Eid-ul-Fitr will be observed in Bangladdesh on July 18 (Saturday), subject to the appearance of the new crescent moon of Shawal month. Sources at Islamic Foundation and Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) said the main Eid congregation will be held at National Eidgah adjacent to High Court at 8:30am on the Eid day. The main Eid congregation (jamaat) will be led by Professor Jalaluddin Al Quaderi, Khatib of Jamiatul Falah Jame-e-Masjid of Chittagong. Senior pesh imam of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque Mufti Maulana Mizanur Rahman has been appointed as an alternative imam, Islamic Foundation confirmed on Wednesday. Eid-ul-Fitr, one of the largest festivals of Muslims, is likely to be celebrated across the country on July 19 if the new crescent moon is not sighted from anywhere in Bangladesh on Friday, according to a news agency.
