Majid, Rony tons spur Dhaka Div to 360/2

Two centuries by Abdul Majid and Rony Talukdar enabled table topper Dhaka Division to score 360/2 at stumps on the first day against Dhaka Metro in the second round of four-day match of Walton 16th National Cricket League at the Khan Saheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah Sunday, reports UNB.
In the day's other fixtures on the first day, Khulna Division trailed by 198 runs against Barisal Division on the BKSP Ground-2; Rangpur Division scored 297 runs for 6 at stumps in 90 overs against Sylhet Division on the BKSP Ground-3; and Chittagong Division scored 209 runs for all in 91 overs against Rajshahi Division at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.
Sent into bat first, Dhaka Division in their first innings scored 360/2 with the opening stand of 314 runs in 73.1 overs contributed by the day's two centurions Abdul Majid and Rony Talukdar.
Opener Majd remained unbeaten on 173 runs off 260 balls with 17 fours and a six while Rony Talukdar scored 163 runs off 224 balls with 18 fours and two sixes.
Number four Taiabur Parvez was batting on 14 runs while Rakibul Hasan (9) was the other scorer for the side on the first day.
Shahid and Elias Sunny took one wicket each for 68 and 81 runs respectively.
On the other hand, veteran national spinner Abdur Razzak's 8 wickets for 100 runs helped Khulna Division to restrict Barisal Division at 271 runs in the first innings.
Replying to Barisal's 271, Khulna opened their first innings on the first day and trailed by 198 runs after scoring 73 runs for 2 in 32 overs as the bails were drawn for the day.
Amit Majumder and Robiul Islam Robi scored 30 and 26 runs respectively while Imrul Kayes (11) and Tushar Imran (1) were batting.
Mossaddek Hossain and Sohag Gazi took one wicket each for 12 and 22 runs respectively.
Earlier, batting first after winning the toss, Barisal were dismissed for 271 in 62.3 overs with Fazle Rabbi scoring team highest 85 runs off 166 balls that featured nine fours and three sixes.
Number seven Al Amin scored 64 runs off 72 balls with eight fours and three sixes while opening batsman Shahriar Nafees scored 55 runs off 63 balls with 10 fours.
Meanwhile, batting first after winning the toss, Rangpur Division opened the first innings and scored 297 for 6 in 90 overs on the first day.
Number three Tanvir Haider scored team highest 73 runs off 163 balls with nine fours while number six Mahmudul Hasan scored 60 runs off 129 runs with nine fours and a six.
Liton Kumar scored 49 runs off 72 balls with nine fours while Ariful Haque (37) and Dhiman Ghosh (27) were on batting and Tarik Ahmed added 35 runs.
