Nasrul asks officials

FE REPORT | Monday, 15 January 2024

State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid on Sunday asked the Power Division and the Energy and Mineral Resources Division to prepare 100-day work plans separately to speed up development work across the country.
He also urged all officials of the ministry to discharge their duties efficiently to ensure uninterrupted power and energy supplies across the country.
Mr Hamid made the call while speaking on the first working day of the new government in his office at the secretariat.
He warned that the challenges in power and energy sectors might increase in the coming days, which require tackling efficiently.
"Ensuing customer satisfaction is the main target of the government," said Mr Hamid.
The government has planned to expedite gas exploration activities and initiate deep drilling to delineate new gas reserves.
The construction of a new gas pipeline to evacuate stranded Bhola gas is also important, he said.
Dynamic oil pricing will also be introduced soon, he added.
