Make country economically self-reliant: PM

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Saturday called for united efforts at making the country economically self-reliant in fulfilling the dream of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. She made the appeal while delivering her speech at a seminar titled 'Speech of March 7: The best speech of liberation in the history of the world'. Father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Memorial Trust organised the programme at Bangladesh Krishibid Institution auditorium. Vice-Chancellor of Premier University Prof Anupam Sen delivered the keynote paper. Member secretary of Father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Memorial Trust Sheikh Hafizur Rahman delivered the welcome speech. Sheikh Hasina said that the economic emancipation of the country will fulfil the dream of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu as mentioned in his historic March 7 speech in 1971. She said that the country still has to attain the economic emancipation and the present government is working hard to this end, according to a news agency.
