Make public list of Swiss Bank depositors: BNP

BNP on Sunday demanded the government make public the list of the Bangladeshis deposited money in Swiss Bank after an international inquiry. “We strongly demand the formation of an international probe body and making public a list to clear it how many Bangladeshis have deposited how much money in the Swiss Bank,” BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir told a protest meeting. The BNP leader came up with the remarks apparently reacting to the Prime Minister’s comment that the government has sought the list of those Bangladeshis deposited money in the Swiss Bank and would bring it back. Justifying his demand for an international probe body, Fakhrul said the fact over the deposition of money by the ruling party leaders in the Swiss Bank will not come out if the government carries out any investigation into it, according to a news agency.
