Makeovers for ladies, gents in city beauty parlours

The city beauty parlours both for men and women are doing brisk business ahead of Eid and Puja as they are flooded with ladies and gents eager to beautify themselves.
They are going to the parlours to get different hair dos, hair colours and hair pluck, facial, pedicure, manicure, blitch, fair polish and so on.
"Everybody likes to beautify oneself on a special day and Eid is one of them," Neela, a university student, told the FE while getting a hair trim at a parlour.
She said she got her call after a three-hour-long wait. Many became depressed with the thought that they might not be able to get their desired makeover after all the waiting.
Talking to the FE, a beautician said as there was only one day left for the Eid, they have a large number of customers to cater to.
Most of the parlours had to appoint part-time beauticians to cope up with the extra load of customers, she added.
There are differences between charges in different parlours and with Eid 'bakshis' added to it the charges vary more than any other time.
There are different hair cuts which the young ladies are most fond of. Charges for layer cut ranges from Tk 200 to Tk 400, full step Tk 250 to Tk 550, two steps Tk 200 to Tk 450, blank cut Tk 80 to Tk 200, V-cut Tk 200 to Tk 300 and U-cut from Tk 150 to Tk 250.
Charges for hair dye also varies from Tk 250 to Tk 450, hair hena Tk 250 to Tk 800, one stick hair colour Tk 300 to Tk 700, hair pum Tk 600 to Tk 1000 and hair pluck Tk 30 to Tk 50.
The parlours offered different types of facials according to the skin tones of the customers.
Herbal facial ranged between Tk 450 to Tk 800, normal facial Tk 300 to Tk 650, biotech facial from Tk 350 to Tk 850.
Fair polish from Tk 550 to Tk 1,000, pedicure Tk 600 to Tk 800, manicure Tk 400 to Tk 600 and hand decoration with hena from Tk 100 to Tk 200.
The boys have also become fashion conscious and are appearing at the saloons and boys' parlours for improving their looks.
"Boys also use various 'uptan', chandan, honey and cucumber mask for facials," a male beautician of a saloon said.
Most of the saloons now offer the good looks items, he added.
