Malala leaves for London after emotional visit

Tuesday, 3 April 2018

ISLAMABAD, Apr 02 (Agencies): Nobel peace laureate Malala Yousafzai Monday left for Britain after an emotional four-day visit to Pakistan, officials said.
Malala made a surprise return visit to Pakistan last week more than five years after she was shot in the head by a Taliban gunman for advocating girls' education.
"Malala Yousafzai along with her family left Islamabad," a government official told the news agency. An airport official confirmed her departure.
A smiling Yousafzai was seen with her parents at Benazir Bhutto International Airport before they boarded a plane to return to London after the four-day visit.
Amid tight security, Yousafzai earlier in the day left her hotel in Islamabad, where she had stayed for four days, and in a convoy of vehicles headed to the airport.
