Malaysia introduces new rule for receiving Bangladeshi workers

Wednesday, 26 September 2007

Malaysian government has introduced a new rule for receiving the Bangladeshi workers by their recruiters at Kuala Lumpur Airport, reports UNB.
According to the new rule, the recruiters concerned will have to receive their Bangladeshi workers at the airport within 24-hours upon their arrival.
"If the recruiter concerned does not accept the workers at the airport within the 24-hours, then they would be shifted to a transit camp from the airport for only 72-hours," said a handout Tuesday.
It said, if the recruiter again fails to receive the workers from the transit camp within the 72-hours, then the Malaysian Immigration authorities would deport them to Bangladesh.
The handout also requested the recruiting agencies to make sure that the workers are received by their recruiters concerned at the Kuala Lumpur Airport before sending them to Malaysia.
