Malaysia mark National Day with big win

CHENNAI, Aug 31 (AFP): Malaysia celebrated the anniversary of the country's independence with an emphatic 8-0 victory over Singapore in their opening match of the Asia Cup field hockey tournament here Friday.
"Today is our 50th National Day and we'd like to dedicate this victory to all Malaysians. The win was very important and I told players to focus on the match," said manager Ponniah Tamilselvan.
