Malaysia to construct 0.10m apartments in Dhaka

Minister for Housing and Public Works Engineer Mosharraf Hossain on Saturday said the government has signed a primary deal with the Malaysian government recently to construct 0.10 million apartments in Dhaka city.
"We have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Malaysia to construct one lakh apartments in the Uttara 3rd phase Jhilmil Project, Kamrangirchar and other suitable areas in the capital," he added.
The minister said this while addressing a discussion meeting and seminar held at Chittagong Press Club auditorium. Chittagong Union of Journalists (CUJ) organized the function on the occasion of May Day 2014.
Speaking at the function as the chief guest, the minister said National Housing Authority is implementing this project for the people of low and middle income groups and the government would try to complete this project within next four years.
The housing minister also said Malaysia would use modern technology to build the high-rises which would have safety measures including prevention of earthquake damage, according to BSS.
