Malaysian student robbed in Ctg

Miscreants have snatched away at gunpoint Tk 200,000 from a foreign student in Chittagong city. The student was also injured while trying to stop the muggers in Prabartak Intersection around 8:30am on Thursday, said Panchlaish Police Station OC Abu Zafar Md Omar Faruk. The victim was Lardez Waren, 24, a Malaysian national and a final year student of Chittagong Medical College (CMC). Waren was on his way to the college by a rickshaw, OC Faruk said. The muggers intercepted the vehicle and snatched the money at gunpoint. As he tried to stop them, he fell from the rickshaw, the OC said. The student received primary treatment, CMC hospital police outpost ASI Pankaj Barua said, according to bdnews24.com.
