Maldives reach semis in SA Games men's football

Maldives advanced to the semi-final of the South Asian Games men's football with a hard-fought lone goal victory over Nepal at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in the city Monday, reports UNB.
This was the second successive win for Maldives after a similar 1-0 win over lowly Bhutan while Nepal lost to Bangladesh by 0-3 goals, both in their respective opening matches.
In the day's match, skipper Umair Mohammed scored the all-important goal for Maldives from penalty in the 12th minute.

Maldives - Faisal, Latheef, Umar, Ibrahim, Ashfaq, Thasneem, Gasim, Nafu (Nashid), Akram (Hassan), Shafiu and Naseer.
Nepal - Bikas, Sagar, Rohit, Biraj, Robin, Nirajan, Yogesh (Santosh), Anil, Jumanu, Ranjeet and Bharat.
