Maldives willing to procure patrol boats from BD

The Maldives has expressed its keen interest to procure off-shore patrol boats from Bangladesh. Chief of Maldives National Defence Force Major General Ahmed Shiyam conveyed the eagerness when he met Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her Sangsad Bhaban office Tuesday evening. PM's Press Secretary AKM Shameem Chowdhuri briefed reporters after  the meeting. He said the Maldivian defence force chief informed the Prime Minister  that he had visited Khunla Shipyard and was impressed with its overall activities.     — UNB
