Mamata greets people of Bangladesh, India

A few hours before the exchange of documents on ratification of Land Boundary Agreement (LBA) between Bangladesh and India, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has greeted the people of both countries. “On the historic occasion of exchanging the documents of the Land Boundary Agreement, my best wishes to the people of India & Bangladesh,” tweeted the West Bengal (Pashchimbanga) chief minister who arrived in Dhaka from Kolkata on Friday night. Mamata’s whirlwind one-day visit is mainly to witness the exchange of the LBA documents between India and Bangladesh. Though it was initially thought that she would come with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, but she has arrived in Dhaka separately from Kolkata and is staying in a separate hotel – Hotel Radisson. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who arrived in Bangladesh on a two-day official visit on Saturday morning, has been staying in Dhaka’s Pan Pacific Sonargaon hotel, according to a news agency.
