Mamun bags double crown in JPC TT

Syed Mamun of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) bagged double crown in Table Tennis competition of Jatiya Press Club (JPC) held Tuesday at JPC auditorium, reports BSS. Jatiya Press Club is holding sports competition among its members in celebration of the 57th anniversary of the club. In the men's singles, Syed Mamun was in impressive form as he cruised past Lutfur Rahman Benu by 2-0 sets in the final hardly allowing his rival to settle down. In the semifinal, Syed Mamun defeated favourite Kazi Rawnak Hossain, senior vice president of JPC by 2-0 set who went on to bag the third spot in singles event. Syed Mamun went on to add another feather to his illustrious cap as he won the doubles event with Kazi Rawnak as his partner. They beat Lutfur Rahman Benu and Emdadul Haque (last year holder of singles title) of Financial Express (FE) pair in the final by 2-0 set. Sanaul Haque of FE and Mrinal Krishna Rai of BSS won the third position in the doubles event as they defeated Syed Ali Asfar of FE and Ali Hossain pair in a closely fought encounFormer General Secretary of Bangladesh Table Tennis Federation Rafiqul Islam Tipu conducted the matches as match referee.
