Friday, 8 June 2007

The fast track Anti-Graft Court Thursday jailed neo-rich businessman Giasuddin Al Mamun for three years for non-submission of his wealth statement to the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) by the deadline to the graft watchdog, report agencies.
After examining the prosecution's witnesses and records, Judge of the Special Anti-Graft Court M Ashraf Hossain delivered the judgement at 11:30am finding Mamun, standing in the dock, guilty of non-compliance with the order of the anti- corruption watchdog.
"The judgement takes effect forthwith," said the court in its ruling.
