Man arrested for killing wife, son

Police have arrested a man at Mirpur in the city for allegedly killing his wife and son. The arrestee is Amanullah Aman, 35, a resident of Mirpur’s Middle Paikpara. The victims have been identified as Irin Aktar Arju, 26, and her 7-year-old son Md Sabbir. ‘We arrested Irin’s husband Amanullah Aman after he killed his wife and son on Wednesday afternoon following a conjugal tiff,’ Mirpur Model Police Station Sub-Inspector Moazzem Hossain said. Police recovered the bodies of Irin and Sabbir from Mirpur's Delta Medical College and Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College and Hospital, respectively. SI Hossain said they were investigating whether the duo was taken at those hospitals prior or after their death. Aman works at a state-run bank, he said, but could not give details, according to a news agency.
