Man arrested for \\\'raping\\\' 2nd grader

Police arrested a man for reportedly raping a second grader at Jhikargacha Upazila in Jessore on Friday. The arrestee was identified as Abdul Latif, 60, the Imam of a local mosque, Jhikargacha Police Station OC Mosharraf Hossain said. Latif is the Imam of the mosque at Gaburapur village under the Upazila. Mosharraf Hossain said the girl was a student of the Shiordah Government Primary School. A case has been filed over the allegations of rape, the OC said. Locals handed him over to police on Friday afternoon after the incident came to light. Family members said the girl was admitted to Jessore Medical College and Hospital Friday evening, according to bdnews24.com.
