Man beaten dead in B\\\'baria

A man was allegedly beaten to death at a drug rehabilitation centre at Brahmanbaria town on Saturday. The dead is Atikul Islam Shafique, 30, son of M Bahar Mian of Kandipara in the town. Local people said the staff of Prayas Drug Rehabilitation Centre at Pirbari under the municipality left the body of Atikul at Brahmanbaria Sadar Hospital and fled the scene on Saturday. As the information spread, relatives rushed to the hospital. Later, police went to the spot, picked the body of Atikul and sent it to a local hospital for autopsy. Family members said Atikul was physically fit when he was admitted to the drug rehabilitation centre on August 2. They claimed that Akikul was beaten to death, according to UNB.
