Man crushed under train in city

An official of a private company was killed as a train hit him while passing a level crossing at Kuril Bishwa Road in Dhaka city on Sunday. The dead is Kumar Bijoy Chandra, 26, son of Pradip Chandra of Dhanbandi in Sadar upazila of Sirajganj district. Kumar was an officer of Woosen Engineering Company located at Baridhara in the city. Nazrul, sub-inspector of Kamalapur Government Railway Police (GRP), said Sylhet-bound ‘Parabat Express’ train from Kamalapur Railway Station hit Kumar, a resident of the city’s Dhanmondi area, when he was passing the level crossing at about 7:05 am, leaving him dead on the spot, according to UNB.
