Man drowns in Munshiganj

A man drowned in a pond at Tongibari upazila in Munshiganj district on Friday afternoon. The deceased was identified as Ohid Bepari, 35, a resident of Dorabati village. Witnesses said Ohid along with some of his friends went down into a pond near his house at Dorabati village for taking bath at about 1:00 pm. After a while, all but Ohid got up onto the bank of the pond. When his friends searched for Ohid, they found him entangled in a fishing net under the water. Later he was rescued and rushed to a local hospital where doctors declared him dead, according to UNB.
