Man electrocuted in city

A man died from electrocution in Bhuiyapara area under Khilgaon Police Station in the city on Saturday, police, relatives and local people said. Hospital sources said the deceased was identified as Mohammad Samiul, 20, son of Abdus Sattar, hailed from Changaria in Islampur Upazila in Jamalpur district. He was a construction worker, they said. Police quoting witnesses said Samiul came in contact with a live electric wire while piling on the ground of an under-construction building site at around 10:45am. Later, he was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctor declared him dead at about 11:45am,’ said his relative Mizanur Rahman, according to a news agency.
