Man found half-buried in Sherpur; three held

SHERPUR, Mar 27 (UNB): A 35-year-old man was half-buried in soil allegedly by his uncle over land dispute at Dakkhin Tantar village in Nalitabari upazila of Sherpur district on Saturday.
A video footage of Nur Islam, who was found half-buried with his hands tied up, went viral on social media and drew huge flak.
Police also arrested three people including victim's uncle Alimuddin, Alimuddin's wife Monira Begum and their son Muktar for their alleged involvement in the incident, said Aminul Islam, assistant sub-inspector of Nalitabari Police Station.
Quoting local people, police said that Nur Islam, son of Taher Mia and his uncle Alimuddin had been at loggerheads over a piece of land.
