Man gets life for killing woman after rape

A court in Chapainawabganj has convicted a man and sentenced him to life term imprisonment for killing a woman after rape in 2010. The convict is Musharaf Hossain Musa, son of Taijudduin, a resident of Gomastapur Upazila. The court also fined him Tk 20,000, in default, to suffer six months’ more jail. According to the prosecution, Musa strangulated his neighbour Sayera Begum after raping her in 2010. Later, Sayera’s relative filed a murder case accusing Musa. After examining the records and witnesses, District and Sessions Judge Kabita Khanam pronounced the verdict on Wednesday, according to UNB.
