Man gets life for molesting a child

A Chittagong court has sentenced a man to life term imprisonment for molesting a two-year-old child at Hamjarbagh in the port city in 2012. The court also fined the convict, Tarek Aziz, 28, a resident of Hamjarbagh area, Tk 50, 000. According to the prosecution, Aziz sexually abused the child when she entered his house at one stage of playing on the night of March 17, 2012. Tarek fled the scene when she started crying. On Mar 18, the child’s mother filed a case against Tarek with Panchlaish Police Station. On April 25, the investigation officer of the case submitted a charge sheet against Tarek to a court. After examining 7 witnesses and relevant documents, judge of the Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal-1 M Rezaul Karim gave the verdict on Monday, according to a news agency.
