Man gets life for violating disabled girl

A speedy trial tribunal in Dhaka has convicted a man and sentenced him to life term imprisonment for violating a disabled girl in Madaripur district in 2011. The convict is Farid, a resident of Banshgari village at Kalkini Upazila at Madaripur. According to the prosecution, the convict, Farid, raped the disabled girl of Banshgari village on August 8, 2011. The victim’s mother filed a case against Farid with Kalkini Police Station on August 12, 2011. On April 10, 2012, Fayekuzzaman, sub-inspector of Kalkini Police Station, submitted a charge-sheet against him. After examining the records and witnesses, Judge ABM Nijamul Haque of Dhaka Speedy Trial Tribunal-4 pronounced the verdict on Wednesday afternoon, according to a news agency.
