Man gets life for violating teenage girl

TANGAIL, June 6 (UNB): A special court here Thursday convicted a man and awarded him life term imprisonment for violating a teenage girl.
The court also fined the convict, Sohel Rana alias Russell Tk 5,000, in default, to suffer one year more rigorous imprisonment (RI).
According to the prosecution, Sohel Rana, resident of Sadar Upazila, picked up a teenage girl from a nearby house and raped her on December 27, 2003. A case was filed.
After examining the records and witnesses, judge of the Women and Children Repression Tribunal Jesmin Anwar handed down the verdict.
