Man hacked to death in Chuadanga

A middle-aged man was hacked to death by miscreants at Napitkhali village in Damurhuda upazila in Chuadanga early Wednesday. The dead is Shafiuddin, 45, an office assistant of Kunia Chandpur Hafezia Madrasa and son of Shahadat Hossain of the village. Police and locals said a gang of miscreants took Shafiuddin forcibly away to a maize field while he was drinking tea at a tea stall near his house some time after on Tuesday midnight and hacked him with sharp weapons indiscriminately, leaving him injured. Critically injured, Shafiuddin was rushed to Chudanga Sadar Hospital where doctors declared him dead around 12:19am. Officer-in-charge of Damurhuda Police Station Ahsan Habib confirmed the incident, according to UNB.
