Man hacked to death in Jhenidah

JHENIDAH, May 6: A man was hacked to death at Ghugri Pantapara village in Moheshpur Upazila under the district on Tuesday night.
Police said, on information, they recovered the body bearing several hacking marks on the head from a paddy field of the area around 12.30 pm Tuesday and sent it to the morgue for autopsy.
The dead were identified as Amin Haque, 55, son of Kazim Uddin Mridha, a resident of Uzzalpur village under the upazila.
There had been a longstanding feud between Amin and his second wife Ahorjan, who lives at her father's house at Ghubri village, according to the OC of Moheshpur Thana. The woman called Amin to take him to Ghubri village house around 8 pm Monday night, the OC added.
Police suspected that Amin's body was dragged to the field after he had been murdered, as pieces of rope were found beside the body.
