Man held while making bombs in city

Police arrested a suspected criminal while he was making bombs in Khilkhet area of Dhaka city on Wednesday night. Police also recovered 70 chocolate bombs, 5.5 kg powders, including 1.5 kg gunpowder, bomb making materials and a huge number of books and CDs (compact disks) related to Shibir activities from his possession. Nazrul Islam, officer-in-charge of Khilkhet police station said acting on a tip off, a special team conducted a raid in Namapara area between 3:00 am to 10:00 pm and arrested Imran Hossain, 20, from a house no. Ka -212. Searching the house, police recovered chocolate bombs and other explosive substances from his possession, the OC added. “We are investigating whether he had any link with the militant group or he had any plan to conduct subversive acts,” OC Nazrul Islam said further, according to a news agency.
